Markel Executive Joins Aspen US Insurance in New York

With this new role, Aldorisio will be in charge of the casualty insurance unit, which includes excess and primary casualty. He will report to Aspen Insurance division CEO Mario Vitale.

Aldorisio has over 30 years of underwriting and management experience and recently was at Markel Corporation in which he was the managing director of casualty insurance. In 2005 he joined Markel and held a number of management positions. Prior, he held roles at Argonaut Specialty, CAN, CHUBB, Crum & Forster and Greater New York Mutual.

Aspen US write casualty, specialty and property insurance in the U.S on both admitted basis and surplus lines through Aspen Specialty Insurance Company and Aspen American Insurance Company. Aspen US is part of Aspen Insurance Holdings Limited, which is a provider of reinsurance and insurance coverage in various global and domestic markets through subsidiaries and offices in Bermuda, Germany, Ireland, France, Switzerland, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the United States. Aspen Insurance Holdings Limited reported $9.5 billion in total assets, $3.2 billion in shareholders’ equity, $4.5 billion in gross reserves and $2.2 billion in gross written premiums.
